Lizard Village Cornwall

Lizard Cornwall

Lizard Lighthouse Cornwall

Set at the wind swept tip of the Lizard Peninsula Cornwall is Britain's most Southerly point and the village of Lizard. Lizard village is a hive of activity in the summer months and has good facilities. Lizard Cornwall is famous for the Cornish Serpentine works made from the rock found there and has plenty of craft shops selling fine examples. Lizard offers cafes, fish and chips, pubs, souvenir shops, ice cream, pastys and a convenience store. Fantastic cliff top coastal walks lead from Lizard village and it is an excellent place to start and end a walk along the coast path.

Lizard village centres around the village green, on which you can park with the request to make a donation. There are toilets just on the edge of the green.

Throughout the winter months most things at Lizard are closed, although the pubs and convenience store remain open.

There is a children's play park with beautiful sea views just opposite Pam's Famous Pasties which is signed in the village. If you do walk to Housel Bay look out for the knitted chicks or airplanes for sale for charity with a Cadbury's Cream Egg inside! Dogs will love the cliff walks, but be aware that they can easily go over the cliff edge and of adders and please keep them on a lead (information about hazards for dogs in Cornwall).

Lizard Lifeboat day with the dramatic staged rescue is definitely worth seeing.

The nearby harbour village of Coverack Cornwall is also a must if you are on the Lizard Peninsula.
